Probably the most difficult aspect of painting for me, is settling on an inspiring idea, and deciding how I will capture the viewer’s attention.
For most of my work, I derive inspiration from the photographs I take myself from the many picturesque places I travel to or lived in. In this case, the towering redwoods off the coast of California, gave me this idea as I hiked along this trail. The painting was created from two separate photos I took of the same forest. The colors were changed to accomplish a mysterious and more dramatic affect.
