Redwood Jewel

This painting was created from a photo I took while hiking the Redwoods trails near my home in Crescent City, California. My husband and I frequently hiked all over the area to take in the most awe inspiring landscapes on earth. I wanted to capture the warm light filtering through the giant trees, as well as highlight the texture on the Redwood in the foreground, to give the viewer a sense of wanting to touch it.
